Volunteer Overview for the Oyster Blues and Brews Festival

Join Us as a Volunteer!

We are excited to invite you to participate as a volunteer at the Oyster Blues and Brews Festival! This event combines Maryland’s cherished maritime traditions with great music, drinks, and community.

As a volunteer, you play a crucial role in supporting local charities and providing an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

The festival will take place at the picturesque Port Covington Marina within the newly developed Baltimore Peninsula. We need over approximately 24 volunteers to ensure the festival’s success across various roles:

Event Date: Saturday, September 7th, 2024

Shifts: Each volunteer shift will be four hours in total.

Volunteer Assignments Include:

  • Oyster and Seafood Booths: Help manage the oyster shucking stations and seafood booths, ensuring attendees enjoy the best flavors of Chesapeake.
  • Beverage Stations: Assist in beer and beverage distribution, checking IDs and serving drinks.
  • Music and Entertainment Areas: Support live music performances by managing stage areas and assisting bands.
  • Family and Youth Activities: Oversee family-oriented activities, including fishing tutorials and environmental education sessions.
  • Eco-Friendly Initiatives: Participate in shoreline clean-up efforts to maintain the beauty of our waterfront venue.
  • Setup and Teardown: Help with the setup before the festival and the clean-up afterwards, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
